It started at 2 AM with flour on the ceiling and a toddler who wouldn't eat anything.

Our oldest, Austin, was diagnosed with profound autism when he was three, and shortly after, we learned about ARFID — Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Most food terrified him. The wrong texture, the wrong color, even the wrong shape of a cracker, and the meal was over before it started. I spent months researching, testing, failing, and starting over.

What I couldn't find on any store shelf was something simple: baked goods made with real, organic ingredients that were safe for a kid who experiences food as a minefield. No seed oils. No mystery additives. No ingredient list that reads like a chemistry exam. Just honest food that a sensitive child might actually eat.

It was actually Adam who came up with the original secret meat muffin — sneaking ground beef into a muffin so Austin would actually eat something with protein. I became obsessed with perfecting it, tweaking the recipe until Austin would reach for it on his own. That's when I fell in love with baking — really baking. From there it was sourdough, then Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, then friends asking for more. Then their friends.
